While Google is updating its audio-throwing features as a result of Sonos management, a fun new media feature has emerged that could make it much easier to transfer media playback between devices in Android 13 .

The feature was spotted by Android Police, who discovered a mockup from Google of Media TTT (Tap to Transfer) functionality. to tap to another to move the replay of those media.

You can see from the mockup how the user is prompted through a pipe at the top to move the device closer to providing replay.

If this sounds a little familiar, it's because Apple has the same feature for iPhones and iPads, allowing these devices to deliver the media to the Homepod Mini.

It is a very useful feature and one that would be welcome on Android 13. However, Android Police noted that there are still a lot of unknowns, such as whether it will work through NFC, Ultra-Wideband (UWB) , or other. We also do not know which devices will be eligible for the feature, which may be limited if it relies on UWB or requires completely new hardware.

It's too early to tell if this feature will go to the latest version of Android 13. It's known that Google has tested features that will only pull through the Developer's Preview only until the next release stable (á la Chat Bubbles) or just not released at all.

With the Android 13 developer preview expected to start sometime in February, we may learn more about this feature then. For now, our knowledge of Android 13 is a bit limited, but hopefully Google can outperform our expectations for Android this year.
