Tri-band Wi-Fi 6
Eero Pro 6
Simple and powerful
Slighe Nest Wifi
The Eero Pro 6 is a much faster router than Nest Wifi, though it has the price tag to support it. If you want to support gigabit speeds on mesh, the Eero Pro 6 is going to be one of your best options. Nest Wifi remains a sensible choice with its AC2200 speeds capable of supporting multiple devices simultaneously. Expansion is equally easy on both devices although eero has a wider range to choose from. Each system has a great app that is easy to use and reasonably powerful for the average user as far as setup and management.
AC2200 has fast Nest Wifi. According to the device, this is enough for gigabit speeds on the 5GHz band with around 1733 Mbps enabled; however, when Nest Wifi is part of a mesh, that distance must be divided between the device and the mesh connection, cutting it in half. However, it's more than fast enough for 4K streaming and browsing, and many people may not even notice the speed reduction.

Eero’s Pro routers take it to the next level by adding another 5GHz band. This allows the router to assign a full bandwidth to connected devices. With 2402 Mbps on the 5GHz high band and 1201 Mbps on the 5GHz low band, the Ero Pro 6 shines with a gigabit connection.
These 5GHz high speeds only come in when using multiple devices or running a mesh as most devices are limited to 2x2 connections. This means 867Mbps on Wi-Fi 5 devices and 1201Mbps on Wi-Fi 6 devices. Both of these routers handle 4K streaming with ease, and you won't find too many sites that offer download speeds to keep up. up to each link.
There is no doubt that Eero Pro 6 is faster, and as file sizes increase and gigabit internet reaches more people, this added capability is worth some. With so many stellar mesh options Wi-Fi 6 and many of the best Android phones supporting it, Wi-Fi 6 is the best way to add some longevity to your network.

Of course, there are a few things that a router does not do particularly well. One of the biggest grips we have with both systems is that they only sport one extra gigabit port. If you want to connect more than one device via Ethernet, you need to test one of the best wireless wireless routers, connect your devices to a mesh node with Ethernet, or install an Ethernet switch.

Some of the extra features of the Eero Pro 6, which are only available with a good membership, include a robust security solution. However, they may represent the greatest benefit of a product over Nest, especially if you are aware of privacy. In general, an Eero subscription (either Eero Secure or Eero Secure +) is there to give you more control over your network, your data, and privacy.
Eero Secure provides secure scanning, content filtering, network-wide ad blocking, and priority technical support. Eero Secure + further enhances the agreement with accounts for VPN encrypt.me, Malwarebytes anti-malware, and 1Password. If you are worried about protecting your network and data, this subscription alone could make the Eeo Pro 6 valuable to you.
There is also the fact that if you buy extensions for either router instead of buying the routers themselves, there are a few disadvantages. In the case of Nest WiFi, the Nest Wifi Points offer nowhere near the same connection speed as the main route, except you do not have an Ethernet port. While this may not bother most people, you may notice a slight slowdown if you have network intensive systems far away from your router. This is partially mitigated by each Point also doubling as a Google Nest smart speaker, with the full potential of Google Assistant.
The best speeds for your eero mesh will be achieved with eero Pro 6 multi-routers. If you are willing to skip some speed, the Eero 6 also makes a solid choice and should be capable of more easily handled 500Mbps. Eero has been compatible with all eero routers, including the Wi-Fi 6 routers. If you have an older eero router, you can install it but keep in mind that you lose more speed than it's worth with the dual - band Wi - Fi 5 Eeros.
With Nest Wifi, Google has made an impressive Wi-Fi system with easy coverage extension and enough speed for most people. When Nest Wifi was first released, Wi-Fi 6 was very rare, included only with the most expensive device. Wi-Fi 6 is now the standard for wireless communication, with most newer phones supporting it. Even for those who don’t, the Eero Pro 6’s fast connection between the mesh points allows greater speeds on node-connected Wi-Fi 5 devices. Ultimately, both routers are fast enough for most people, but the Eero Pro 6 can help you make your new devices and a fast internet connection.
