Tesla will shut down in dash video games while its cars

Tesla is quickly responding to NHTSA's scrutiny of in - dash games while cars are on the move. The Keeper learned that Tesla will provide an update that enables on-the-go Passenger Play. A spokesman for the regulator said Tesla had promised the change after discussing the issue with officials. There was no word on when the update might arrive, but it's safe to assume that you will need to park for future play sessions.

The representative confirmed that the investigation would continue despite the update. NHTSA has affirmed that the Vehicle Safety Act prohibits companies from selling cars that pose a significant safety risk, including from driving away. The study covers approximately 580,000 Tesla EVs between the 2022 and 2022 model years.

Tesla no longer runs a public relations team and was not available for comment. The feature change is not surprising. Lack of action could exacerbate the impact if the NHTSA finds that Tesla was negligent. There is also a competitive pressure. Mercedes-Benz recently fixed an error that would allow mid-drive video playback - it would not look good if Tesla refused to follow suit.
